Roller Blinds Malaysia

Clean, practical, made to fit.

Kova roller blinds are made to measure for your windows, with a choice of blackout, dim-out and sunscreen fabrics depending on how much sunlight, privacy and heat control you need.

From bedrooms and living rooms to offices and kitchens, roller blinds offer a simple way to control light without making the room feel heavy or cluttered. We design, measure, make and install ours ourselves — a factory-direct solution without the showroom mark-up.

02/Why roller blinds

One clean sheet of fabric.

Unlike curtains with multiple folds or blinds with individual slats, a roller blind rolls neatly above the window when opened. The result is simple, modern and easy to match with almost any interior.

  1. Clean, minimal appearance

Roller blinds sit neatly against the window and take up very little visual space — well suited to condominiums, apartments and offices where you want the room to feel uncluttered.

  2. Better control of sunlight

Malaysia gets strong sunlight year-round. The right fabric reduces harsh daylight, screen glare and direct sun entering the room.

  3. Privacy when you need it

Choose sunscreen when you still want daylight and an outside view, or move toward dim-out and blackout when privacy matters more.

  4. Easy to maintain

No complicated folds or multiple slats. Regular dusting and the occasional wipe are usually enough.

  5. Made to fit your window

Instead of forcing a standard-sized blind onto your window, each Kova roller blind is made to your actual measurements.

03/Blackout · Dim-out · Sunscreen

Not every room needs the same blind.

The single most important decision isn't colour — it's fabric. Each of the three behaves differently against Malaysian light, and the right one depends on what the room is actually for.

Blackout roller blinds

Want your bedroom darker in the morning?

Blackout roller blinds

An opaque fabric designed to significantly reduce light passing through the material — suited to bedrooms, children's rooms, TV rooms and windows facing strong morning or afternoon sun.

Even with blackout fabric, small amounts of light can still enter around the sides depending on the window structure. If darkness is the priority, we'll advise whether an inside or outside mount suits your window better.

Dim-out roller blinds

Privacy and less glare, without going dark?

Dim-out roller blinds

Dim-out sits between sunscreen and blackout. It cuts strong daylight and gives better privacy while letting the room keep some natural brightness.

A practical choice for living rooms, workspaces and any room that feels uncomfortable in direct sunlight.

Living rooms · Home offices · Study rooms · Meeting rooms

Sunscreen roller blinds

Love the daylight, hate the glare?

Sunscreen roller blinds

An open-weave fabric that filters strong sunlight while keeping some visibility through the window — useful on large windows, living rooms and offices where you want less glare but not less view.

During the day it also adds privacy while keeping the room feeling open and bright.

05/Room by room

Start with the room, not the trend.

The right roller blind depends less on what's fashionable and more on how you actually use the space — and which direction the window faces.

Bedroom

Blackout helps create a darker, more private sleeping environment, particularly on windows exposed to strong morning sun. If you're sensitive to light, the mount matters too — an outside mount can cover more of the window than an inside mount.

Blackout

Living room

Usually a balance between daylight, comfort and privacy. Sunscreen or dim-out reduces harsh sunlight without closing the room in. For west-facing living rooms with strong afternoon sun, fabric choice matters more than anywhere else in the house.

Office

Sunlight reflecting off a laptop or monitor makes work uncomfortable. Roller blinds cut glare quickly without adding heavy curtains — sunscreen when you still want daylight, dim-out for stronger glare and privacy control.

Kitchen

A practical option for many kitchen windows thanks to the simple design and easy maintenance. The right material depends on how close the window sits to cooking areas, sinks and moisture — we'll recommend based on the actual location.

06/Roller blinds price in Malaysia

There isn't one fixed price.

Every roller blind is made to the window and specification you choose, so the honest answer is that the price depends on five things. Here's exactly what moves it.

Window size

Larger or taller windows need more fabric and sometimes different hardware.

Fabric type

Blackout, dim-out and sunscreen come in different specifications, textures and ranges.

Manual or motorised

A standard chain-operated blind normally costs less than a motorised system.

Number of windows

One bedroom window is a different job from furnishing a whole condominium or office.

Installation conditions

Window height, access and mounting conditions affect the final specification.

What you don't pay for

Distributor layers and retail showroom overhead. We measure, make and install ourselves.

Affordable doesn't have to mean cheap-looking.

You pay for the blind, the material, the workmanship and the installation — not for the fact that it passed through several hands on the way to your window. The right blind, the right fabric, proper installation, at a price that makes sense.

07/Made to measure

A few centimetres decide everything.

Buying blinds isn't only about choosing a colour. The difference between a blind that looks built into the window and one that looks slightly awkward is usually measurement. From first photo to installation, you deal with one team.

01

Tell us about your space

Send a photo of your window, rough measurements and what you're trying to solve. The problem tells us more than the dimensions do.

“Bedroom is too bright in the morning.” · “Living room gets very hot in the afternoon.” · “I want privacy but don't want to lose all my daylight.”

02

Professional measurement

We measure the actual window and check installation conditions, including whether an inside mount or outside mount works better for the space.

03

Choose your fabric

Compare blackout, dim-out and sunscreen in your own room rather than from a picture online. Colour, texture and opacity all look different under natural light.

04

Confirm the specification

Once size, material, colour and mechanism are confirmed, your blinds go into production to those exact specifications.

05

Installation

Our team installs and tests every blind to make sure it rolls smoothly and sits correctly in the space.

09/Motorised

Without walking to every window.

Instead of a chain, the blind raises and lowers through a motor control system. Depending on the motor and installation, that can be battery-powered or wired.

Motorisation earns its place when the window is genuinely hard to work by hand — or when several blinds should move together.

Large or tall glass panels

Full-height windows where a chain becomes awkward and uneven.

Multiple blinds side by side

A row of windows that should open and close as one.

High or hard-to-reach windows

Stairwell, mezzanine and above-furniture windows.

Smart-home setups

When blinds should run on schedule alongside the rest of the house.

You don't need motorisation on every window. Tell us how you use the space and we'll say where it actually makes sense.

10/Cleaning & maintenance

Light cleaning, not deep cleaning.

For normal household use, regular light cleaning is usually enough. Different fabrics have different coatings — if you're unsure which yours is, ask us before you try anything stronger.

Regular dust

A soft microfibre cloth, feather duster or low-suction vacuum attachment removes surface dust.

Small marks

On suitable fabrics, wipe gently with a slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid aggressive scrubbing, which can affect the surface coating.

Don't soak the fabric

Roller blind fabric should generally not be soaked or put in a washing machine.

Keep the mechanism clear

Don't yank the chain, and keep objects out of the blind's path — including for motorised blinds.

11/Roller blinds Malaysia FAQ

Questions we get asked.

  • Yes. Roller blinds are common in Malaysian homes because the fabric can be selected according to how much sunlight the room gets. On windows receiving strong sun, sunscreen, dim-out or blackout fabrics all help manage direct light and glare.

  • Blackout fabric stops light passing through the fabric itself, but small light gaps can still appear around the sides depending on the window and installation method. If maximum light reduction matters, tell us at measurement so we can recommend the right mounting approach.

  • Blackout is usually the most suitable choice for bedrooms, because it gives the strongest light reduction and privacy.

  • For most living rooms, sunscreen or dim-out gives a better balance between natural daylight, glare reduction and privacy.

  • Sunscreen fabric keeps some visibility through the material, especially during the day. How much depends on the fabric's openness, its colour and the lighting. At night, when the room is brighter than outside, the privacy characteristics change.

  • Yes. The single-sheet design means fewer individual parts to clean than most other blind styles. Routine maintenance is usually light dusting or gentle spot cleaning.

  • Yes, for suitable configurations. The best motor setup depends on the size of the blind, access to power and how you want to control it.

  • Neither is automatically better. An inside mount gives a neat, integrated look when the window recess is deep enough. An outside mount covers beyond the window opening and gives more coverage, which helps when reducing side light gaps matters. We'll advise during measurement.

  • Yes. Your blinds are produced to the measurements and specifications of your actual windows, rather than to standard ready-made sizes.

  • Start with the problem you want to solve. Darker bedroom, consider blackout. Less glare but keep some light, consider dim-out. Natural daylight with some outside visibility, consider sunscreen. At measurement you can compare all three in your own room before deciding.
